No, you did not say so, but if you believe that life on earth has been evolving for hundreds of millions of years, then you should not be discounting the fact that creatures (insects, bats, mammals, fish, what have you) developed wings over the eons.
Do you realize how complex flight is...just because eons of time pass that somehow nature magically overcomes the complexity of designing an animal or insect that can fly..but then again anyone that believes in Global warming...well never mind
if evolution is observed how do they explain the origin of flight?
Firstly wings, paws, fins, hooves, feet, and hands all have common attributes. The origin of flight is the same origin of claws in a paw, the spine in a catfish fin, the hard tip of hooves, the big toe on your foot(which is required to run) and the grandest of them all the thumb on your hand.
This is one of the dumbest posts on this forum, and that says a lot. The OP earned himself a spot on my ignore list a while ago, but still... wow! Nothing like fact-free, right-wing nonsense to start the morning on CD!
I read one hilarious theory...How and Why Did Wings Evolve?
Wings evolved because bipedal animals were leaping into the air; large wings assisted leaping. (This is possible; any amount of wing could assist leaping..
Yeah right...lets see now take myself as test subject..my DNA has a board meeting with the aerodynamics engineering department. Hey guys Fordtrucks has been leaping on the road quite a bit lately. Lets help the poor guy out. Voila fordtrucks now has turbocharged jet thrusters on his arms. Yahoo...i can fly like superman!!!
unbelievable...I think I would give more credence to santa claus being real!!!
You really don't understand how evolution works, do you. Evolving to fly likely took millions of years. Other features in other species take less time. The evolution of beak shape of finches has been observed over 30 years. Evolution in micro organisms can be observed over the course of weeks.
Evolution favors abilities that help a species survive. If something wing like helped a species get food then the ones that did it best would survive and their offspring would have bigger/better wings, and their offspring would have better wings...1,000 generations later and they might be gliders, 10,000 generations later and maybe they're flying, or maybe they're extinct.
It's no different than an animal growing longer horns or evolving to run faster, or how some mammals have evolved to hold their breath for 90 minutes, while most humans can barely do it for 1 minute.
