There is one thing that has not been looked at. How many of those mothers who gave birth out of wedlock got married afterwards? How many of them are in partnerships with the baby's father? How many had one night stands? How many broke up with that guy? OOW births are one thing. What happens after is another.
Actually, religion doesn't play a role in poverty and out of wedlock births. In fact, having children out of wedlock is frowned upon. Utah isn't a particularly poor state, nor does it suffer from the rate of OOW births are other states do. And it's a religious state.

Really? If religion is so bad for Blacks, them why is it that so many problems currently taking place have occurred with the demise of churches? I can tell you that many so-called "pastors" aren't doing what they are suppose to. They aren't influencing their flock to do better. Sounds like it is the individuals and not religion itself.
I look at what goes on in Utah. Its members, both the men and women, are held responsible and accountable and much is expected of them.
