LOL, I know

My original post was in response to lovecrowds, then you responded to me because I said married instead of unmarried by mistake, then I responded to you to clarify.

Long story short, we agree the numbers are inflated by the over simplification of a word in a study.

Yes and no. I don't think they're inflated by as much as you think. I taught that demographic for too many years.

Pretty sure 60% is lower than 72%

The census says it is inflated as the link I just posted shows.

The OOW percentage you taught was between 75% and 67%

The real number of fatherless black children is between 52% and 63%. (52% comes from the number of fathers in their children's lives, but not living in the home possibly do to remarriage.)

One of the most comprehensive studies done on this issue concluded as follows:

"The results show that after controlling for individual effects, there is no evidence that welfare contributes to increasing propensities to form female headed households for either whites or blacks."

Does Welfare Play Any Role in Female Headship Decisions?
Welfare might have played a small role. However, there is something many people haven't considered. The rate of female-headed households in the Black population were higher than anyone else going back BEFORE LBJ's Great Society. This goes back to the 1950, oddly enough, coinciding with the rapid urbanization of Blacks during this time.

Why is every white guy concerned about black families? seems like a lot of gruff, considering white poverty in Appalachia and other regions rivals 3rd world nations

But hey- find a scapegoat. You're good at that.

Sadly, this is true. No one was talking about building/opening rehab centers in black neighborhoods destroyed by drugs, but Appalachia is going to get at least 10 in the next 2 years.

In Oklahoma 60% of all births are paid for by medicaid. 54% of the states population is on medicaid, but only 12% of those on medicaid are black

Oops, so much for the narrative being pushed in this thread. You can check any other state you want with the two links above.
