Never heard anyone say that. Catholics are in many cases very Liberal and very Christian.
It's like saying Liberals can't be gun owners. Many do.
This is a silly thread attacking Christians when many Liberals are very strong Christian. Are Liberal Christians sex perverts also?
I give you kudos for continuing to assert that there are many strong Christians who are liberals. I agree that there are. I know quite a few.
But you are wrong when you dispute that many fundamentalists don't consider Catholics to be real Christians. I was raised Catholic and heard this claim often.

This, in a nutshell. Keep your religious dogma out of our laws and I won't care what you believe in.

Well, I've heard self-professed 'Christians' say "Catholics are not true Christians". Of course I was also raised Catholic and heard from them that Catholicism was the only true religion and was threatened with eternal damnation by a Sunday School teaching nun who said we'd go to hell if we even stepped foot in another church. Nothing else could have been more effective in driving me from organized religion.
"Worse than this chronic fixation on sex, gender, and sexuality, is that Conservative Christianity has somehow deputized itself as qualified and entitled to police such things for the world, with the Bible (not Science, facts, or reason) as its sole authority on the matter."
I've heard a number of 'Christians' say Catholics aren't.
I have heard that too, but can't say I understand why. They believe in Christ, the Bible, etc.
