The truth is, there is hunger everywhere in America. The richest nation on Earth, but we can't feed our own population or provide decent medical care for them. But we can always find the money to fund another war.

And here lies the crux of it all. Conservatives cry that paying taxes to help the needy is unconstitutional, but never bat an eye for many other crap that we pay into via taxes.

I cringe whenever I hear some idiot say that the individual mandate fee was unconstitutional......but never do I hear anyone complain about the funding via our tax dollars for NASA.

Yep. Calif. probably has more of them than any other state and because they are deemed citizens by a PC policy they are entitled to all kinds of welfare benefits and they have to be poor to get them.

Please don't lump all of us conservatives together. I have no problem with helping our truly needy citizens and I oppose all these useless wars and many other things that suck our taxes dry.

I say "conservatives" to denote the masses in the group...... the same way you say "liberals" to denote the masses in that group. I'm fully aware that not EVERY conservative shares the same values, no different than knowing that not every liberal share the same values.

So much for Texas being the conservative miracle economy.
So what does Texas have in common with CA besides too many illegals?

Yep, the rates are the same for California and Texas, and inexcusable in both cases.

Poor people.

Nice try....the purpose of this thread was to try and demonize a blue state by pointing out the child poverty rates, trying to make a connection to liberal policies........when it's way too easy to find red states that have an equally or higher rate of child poverty than CA.

On the flip side, I can also point to several blue states that have much lover child poverty rates.

They demonize states like CA encouraging and supporting illegals who come here poor and add to the cost of a state. Texas encourages border control, CA likes their open borders.

Big difference.

Illegals here add tremendously to the poor problem and very expensive to provide services.
