"Less than four months after President Donald Trump suggested churches should be able to receive federal disaster relief funds, officials have changed federal policies to make it easier for religious institutions to qualify for such aid.

With lawsuits pending in Texas and Florida from churches and synagogues challenging the limits, the Federal Emergency Management Agency announced Tuesday that it is removing language in its rules that often disqualified religious groups from aid available to other non-profits."

The day that those organizations PAY TAXES is the day that they should qualify for taxpayer-funded benefits. Leave it to Trump-Pence to provide this welfare to them.

Yep. Most of those mega-churches are nothing but political action committees posing as charities or simple scams, where the congregation funds the pastor's mansion and jet. Small, local churches and actual religious groups that do good deeds are different, but they aren't the ones with the influence anymore these days.

Puerto Ricans pay no federal income taxes, yet they are seemingly entitled to FEMA assistance. I see no reason why churches in the US shouldn't qualify, especially considering how much they contribute to their local communities.

For the ones who actually contribute, they should do so because it is a tenet of their religion, not because they expect the govt to pay for their do-gooder deeds. These “churches” nowadays are more into receiving handouts than giving handups.

I can’t even collect FEMA because I “make too much money”, yet they want to give it the hypocritical, bigoted churches.

Planned Parenthood received federal assistance for years for its "do-gooder deeds."

President Trump sure is locking in the religious vote. The Pope will no doubt campaign for him next time.
