Up 8K points in two years.

Can't imagine what might have caused investors to lose confidence after Nov 8.

Really is a mystery.

I see what you did there.

When the North took Dien Bien Phu the US set up an advisory group to assist the South from Viet Cong advances. The first casualties I remember were 4 MAAG guys in a jeep on Hwy 1 got ambushed and killed.
Kennedy expanded that and started the Green Berets. Johnson just carried on Kennedy's agenda.
The rest is history.

Anyone who knows basic math realizes it is easier to show a large gain when you have a lower starting point and the economy is starting to climb back. By the way, just exactly how long did it take for the market to get back to the 14,164 it had reached under Bush administration????

I believe it took about 5 years.
Under Bush the Dow reached 16,855 in October 2007.
And it took Obama 4 years to reach those October 2007 Bush levels.

Notice that Bill Clinton had a Republican Congress during that time period. What did we have when it all crashed under Bush? Hmmm!
The above is you spinning things without listing any cause or effect.

The bottom line is there are a lot of ways to spin things to make you feel better.
My post was a response to a poster who implied Obama was bad for the stock market. But like I said during Obama's time in office the stock market rose from 6,547 to 19,762 (a increase of 13,215 points.)

And under Obama the market performed better than under Donald Trump.

How did Obama cause the market to begin falling in 2007? (he didn't become president until 2009)

Republicans blame Obama for a stock market crash that started 2 years before he became president.
Quote:
  • Market hits highest points ever during Trump - Obama is greatest President.
Under Obama the stock market hit all time record highs over 100 times.

But republicans ignore Obama hitting stock market all time record highs over 100 times, and then republicans greatly praise Trump for having record highs.

Oh goodie, if so, we can give credit to the blue wave! After all, some Trumpies here are blaming the blue wave for the recent crash. So it would appear that democrats are now responsible for the stock market. If it reaches a new record I'll be sure to start a thread, "Stock market cheers blue wave by making record highs!"

When it's good news, give credit to Trump. When it's bad news, blame the party that's not even in power, lol.
