I never shopped at Sears for clothing. For a woman, I think their clothing is just awful and always has been. However, I sort of liked their appliances back in the day. I think most people in my area are not getting appliances through Home Depot, Lowe's, Best Buy, etc. I absolutely HATE going into those stores for appliances because you can't get a person to even look at you. I just wonder why they couldn't keep afloat in, at least, that department.
We bought a washer/dryer and a fridge at Lowe's, and they give me a discount for being a veteran.
Eddie Lampert was the worst thing to happen to that company. He's just milking the real estate for all it's worth. You better believe he's gonna make out like a bandit when Sears finally goes under.
That is exactly what he is doing, he had no intention of restoring K Mart or Sears to their former glory days. I worked at a K Mart store in 2001-2003 and then later in 2014-2016 during the Crazy Eddie era.
The store was in poor condition, there were floor tiles missing and never replaced and various other things that should have been maintained in the building that never were and that store was one of the better ones.
If Sears goes under, it will take Craftsman tools with it!
Craftsman tools are the only reason why Ive been inside a Sears store in the last 15 yrs, they have some great tools, but they are overpriced too.
Where have you been? Craftsman's long gone. It was gone even when Sears was around. Their only claim to fame was the Made in USA stamp. When they gave that up, they became another Harbor Freight tool.
Now adding to their initial closures announced last year.
Department stores are not WINNING.
Between Sears and Macy's I find it interesting that none of the stores identified are in the area I shop. The majority of the closures seem to be in less "booming" areas economically.
Guess you'll have to order that stove through Amazon!
We'll get that stove from any number of local appliance shops.

They have a massive campus right outside of Chicago (been there a few times for interviews...thank God I didn't get those jobs...). They should just sell off all of their assets to Amazon. Amazon can keep those people (obviously they can make changes as time goes on), get a **** ton of real estate assets (which they can keep or sell) and a massive campus for their 2nd HQ (save a bunch of time and money on building one), and the current owner of Sears can ride off into the sunset with a few billion.
Oh, they got change...they just never bothered to ask what that change would be...some of us tried to tell them...
There was no change.
