Trump CAN fire Sessions, but the only reason he has for doing so is that Sessions recused himself from the Russia investigation and he won't fire Mueller. I think that would be seen as obstruction of justice and grounds for impeachment.

Sessions already gave a resignation letter last year and Trump changed his mind, why would anyone expect that he would like Sessions replacement any better. Besides, who would even want the job.

GOP Reps. Mark Meadows, Jim Jordan call on Sessions to resign - CNNPolitics

https://www.politico.com/story/2018/...-jordan-324022

Meadows and Jordan said that the "alarming number of FBI agents and DOJ officials sharing information with reporters is in clear violation of the investigative standards that Americans expect and should demand."

The minute Jeff Sessions lost his backbone and caved to a little pressure, he lost all effectiveness he thought he would have.

If Session unrecused himself at this moment and took the bull by the horns, you would see his approval skyrocket.
Jeff Sessions was immediately handcuffed, before he was sworn in.
Bring in Rudy, to clean house and RICO these crooks. We need someone that is Relentless, not cowering in the corner

Relentless Rudy Gulliani.
The guy cannot believe Sessions recused himself and all the lost time and having the DOJ controlled by the FBI.

IIRC story was that His Orangeness was told by Mitch McConnell that if Sessions went he might not get another AG confirmed quickly, and or for some time. So DT backed off the idea.....
