10 Things that Californians don't have to know:

1. Water pipes can froze and leak.

2. Snow tire and engine heater is a thing.

3. Why you crank the car 15-20 minutes before you actually drive it.

4. Weather report that is more than 5 minutes long.

5. What snow storm feels like.

6. The weather can be too cold to snow.

7. Why you need to pull windshield wipers up off the windshield if you're parking the car outside.

8. Why a car breaking down in the middle of nowhere is a life and death situation.

9. Your car's gasoline tank can freeze.

10. So does your nose hair!!

.

Sandy friggin ego man.

Actually I was there in the winter once. It was hilarious to see y'all bundled up in the low 60s. I think I was still wearing shorts and a t shirt.

Oh, I remember all that. I grew up in a country where it's not a proper blizzard until some unfortunate woman gives birth in an Army personnel carrier that's been put into use as an ambulance because the roads are impassable. Can't say I really, y'know - miss it.

Southern California does have one of the most idyllic climates in the world, not to mention beautiful landscapes, which makes the outmigration of Americans from the state all the more ironic.

Cold weather for 3 months is cool. Better than having the same weather throughout the year. Plus being off from work because of snow and playing in the snow is fun

I paid good money for my brand name jacket. Of course I'm going to show it off during the couple weeks that temperature gets that cold.

Parts of California do get snow. The Sierra Nevadas and Cascades in California can get massive snowfalls. Just google images of snow levels around Tahoe/Truckee.

The interesting thing about California is that it has such a diversity of geography and weather in one state. It has nothing to do with politics.
