Agree that right now Bannon is the big loser in all this. He seems to think Trump was riding his coattails instead of the other way around.
While I DO remember one poster in particular stating that Trump would lose his base if Bannon left; this is not going to be the case.
But ~ the two definitely deserve each other and if Bannon grovels enough and flatters Trump enough - they may kiss and make up.
Bannon is only groveling because of the threat of losing his position at Breitbart and financial backing from the Mercer family, and the Mercers have only held on to Bannon because they fear losing big, big $ from SiriusXM Radio if they kick Bannon to the curb.

I don't know a lot about Bannon, but he sure proved himself to be a wimp this week when he said those things about Trump, and then folded and apologized. Be a man, and stand up for yourself and what you said. Instead, he acted like a weakling and went crawling back to Trump.

Looks like Bannon lost the backing of the Mercer's over the weekend, where are his candidates getting backers.
For a year now, I've been trying to get a grip on the truth of Bannon underneath all the media hype and liberal talking points.
I liked that he was exposing all the RHINOs and shaking things up in the do-nothing R congress, but he really exposed the truth of his character for me when he enthusiastically endorsed Roy Moore, and then pathetically attacked Trump and his family with a salacious and vile punk "author." And the final blow, publically calling Ivanka "dumb as a brick" showed me his pathetic true colors.
Bannon is the brains of the nationalist anti-GOP establishment movement.The establishment Republicans can't stand Bannon as he has the potential to bring them down. They leaped at the chance to kick him while he was down. It really doesn't matter, though. We learned with the tax bill that the old guard is still solidly in charge of policy in the US despite Bannon or Trump.
