Blah blah blah...

Why are you guys always so obsessed with California? You remind me of people who are so offended by what they see but are craning their necks and bulging their eyeballs to drink it all in. You live in your village a thousand miles away, one would think you be happy there and have other things to focus on. No one is making you live here.

At the end of the day, California absolutely OWNS your asses when it comes to economic strength and productivity. So suck it.

I live there. It used to be paradise but no longer is. We have every right to mention the negatives also. I remain here for other reasons even though I wish those reasons didn't exist.

Then why is California soaking up 1/3 of the welfare when our population is only 12% of the country?

So, to be clear, a bunch of angry right-wingers posted a fake sign on the CA border, and we're going to pretend it is "the truth?" Seriously, that is how far this forum has sunk - fake news is now "the truth." Wow... pathetic.

Meanwhile, CA has a much larger and healthier economy than all the backward and rage-filled red states. But facts aren't looked kindly upon around these parts.

Oh, but that's right - we've got to keep pretending that the far-right "isn't violent" to fit the silly narrative.

It's so pathetic.

Apparently the only way they can feel good about where they live is to bash other places more economically successful, more innovative, more visited, more prominent, etc.

You think they are going to bring up Mississippi, West Virginia, Kansas or Kentucky? The point is to deflect from the states not doing as well.

It is symptomatic of a massive inferiority complex.

As for those who 'claim' to live there and hate it--why are they even there? Why don't they take action and move to one of those sought-after midwestern or southern states?

There is already studies done on this. The people who are in poverty is not static - CA has one of the highest upward mobility rate in the country. Poor people moves up the economic ladder and their spots are filled by newcomers. Many poor in CA don't stay that way, unlike the red states, where the poor stays poor.
CA gets by far the majority of new poor immigrants because this is where the jobs are at. Immigrants aren't dumb, they are not flocking to red states just so they can be just as stuck as the locals.

Making CA pays for everything seems to be the right-wing's "solution" to most things.

Maybe if we were living inside the script for Pretty Woman. I notice you don't have a location tag. Is the year that movie was released the last time you lived in CA?
