Johnson said Israel cut its illegal immigration rate by "99 percent" by constructing a 143-mile fence along its southern border.
Israeli government data support Johnson’s statement. However, experts say the fence alone is not responsible for the dramatic decrease in illegal immigration, policies have also deterred illegal border crossings. Border security experts also caution about comparing Israel and the United States’ southern borders -- the U.S.-Mexico border is much longer than the Israel-Egypt border, terrain conditions are different and more agents would be needed to monitor the U.S. border.
Johnson’s statement is accurate, but needs additional information. We rate it Mostly True."
Well, we can have a 2 for. Cut UN funding and just implement E-verify for all employment, banking, landlords, hospitals and government agencies.
We don't need the wall. We need to take away the bait that draws the parasites. Make life impossible for them.
Then impose penalties with real teeth for those caught hiring illegals, renting to illegals, or sheltering illegals.
For example.
Get caught renting to illegals and your house is property is confiscated.
Get caught employing illegals and pay a fine of $50,000 and 1 year in prison. That includes the cheap homeowners that troll Home Depot parking lots for cheap illegal labor.
Please re-read why e-verify will not work all on it's own. It's only a part of the solution to the problem. Unless their kids are denied our birthright citizenship and benefits they will still come and can live off of them. And once again, criminals, terrorists and drug runners aren't looking for jobs. Why is it so hard for some of you get this ?
A huge expense that is also time consuming is the eminent domain process that has to be resolved. The legal battles over this will go on for years. Think of how many private property owners would be involved.
The wall is just not economically feasible and won't keep Mexicans out of the US. They will find a way to get in. Anyone who actually thought that Mexico would pay for the wall was very gullible.
No, it's you and yours that are gullible not to mention you completely ignore the facts. For one thing congress already approved of 700 miles of double wall along the most porous areas of our border and where those types of walls have already been erected they have been very effective. We don't need a wall along our entire border there are natural barriers to illegal entry and the Border Patrol can handle those areas. If there are any private property owners that object then let their properties be trampled all over by illegal aliens. Bet they'd be begging for a wall in no time.
The wall is economically feasible. Better to construct a $25 billion wall than to continue paying over $100 billion a year for illegal aliens and all the other pitfalls of illegal immigration. Wake up! I don't care who pays for it is economically feasible based on the above.
I voted "no". I do not care if there is a wall or no, but I do not wish to pay for it, knowing it won't stop illegal immigration, or drug smuggling. There is a wall in Egypt/Gaza border with nearly 2000 under it. It actually makes border crossing easier because you can go underground where you won't be seen.
You may want to update whatever you are reading as the wall between Egypt and Gaza has been supplemented with a moat and a water system that floods tunnels. Egypt has also bulldozed all homes within two miles of the border. Also Egypt rarely opens their border crossing anymore and when it does it's only a few hundred they let cross. Egypt takes their fence with Gaza very serious now.

Do you think Trumps price tag is for only fence and does not include any electronic surveillance? Ground penetrating radar will make a difference.
Did you notice that the wall that Israel built about 15 years ago, put an end to suicide bombings?
Did you notice it's a fence, not a wall? And was built for under 500M total, not 18 billion for one small portion?

Ok, if it's so easy to prevent any illegal entry, then the US can just go ahead and tell Mexico how it's done, right?
And yes, most undocumented immigrants living here now are from Mexico, but unless you've figured out a way to go back in time to build this wall that will supposedly prevent them from coming in the first place, that point is irrelevant to the present day where the majority of undocumented immigrants are not from Mexico.

Look again as that poster is discussing the West Bank (not Egypt or even Gaza). It's a concrete barrier where it needs to be so. The area's with fence are far from populations of people and are supplemented by electronic surveillance.
