Exactly. The cash isn't given to Pakistan. Weaponry is provided and they are told what they are going to get for very specific purposes. And it comes from U.S. defense corporation. Look it up on line using the terms "security assistance."

Quote:
Security Assistance is a group of programs, authorized under Title 22 authorities, by which the United States provides defense articles, military education and training, and other defense-related services by grant, loan, credit, cash sales, or lease, in furtherance of national policies and objectives. All SA programs are subject to the continuous supervision and general direction of the Secretary of State to best serve U.S. foreign policy interests; however, programs are variously administered by DoD or Department of State (DoS).
Now, I don't have an opinion yet if withdraw of these funds is a good or bad idea. Obviously, someone believe Pakistan isn't doing enough to be helpful.

But you people making comments on this aid I would hope would learn what you're talking about.

Which is why they will get the aid. That military industrial complex Eisenhower warned the country about will want the money.

All the aid Pakistan gets wouldn't pay for a quarter of the new Tappan Zee bridge!

Agreed, but remember that a lot of people who complain about the U.S. giving money to Pakisatan have no problems with us giving money to Israel.

If we are not getting our money's worth, than, yes we should stop sending them money, and I'm fine with spending it on infrastructure.

Now, that being said, we need to keep a few things in mind:

- It is EXTREMELY unlikely Trump is in any position to properly evaluate if we're getting our money's worth from the foreign aid we are sending them. He acts mostly based on emotion and simply "doing the opposite" of what everyone before him has done. He's not a reliable judge of this type of complicated data; he's also, quite frankly, not very good with his money. Were it not for white-collar games, he'd have been broke a long time ago.

- I also have serious doubts the money will end up where he says it will. Trump has made a lot of crazy and empty promises during the campaign, and he is a highly unreliable leader. He's also a crook and surrounded by crony parasites. I'd be more likely to guess most of the money will disappear into the bank accounts of various contractor buddies, if not his own accounts. I'm sure we can somehow justify fancying up one of his hotels or golf courses as "infrastructure improvements," right? Lol...

"Trump Infrastructure" means tunnels, bridges and highways that serve his and his friends properties. He took NJ Taxpayers for 325 Million of our state "tax" money to build a small tunnel and bridge and promised us it would pay dividends. Now it passes by only empty lots in a bankrupted town taken over by the state.

Do you think he can work more such miracles?
