This is largely due to the US imprisoning millions more than before, versus say the 80s.

Great move. Cage those who can't act civilly = safer society for the productive who can

No surprise. "Liberal" places tend to have more jobs and more income, hence less crime.

Far-right places tend to have less jobs and less income. The only reason that there isn't run-away crime (at least that we hear about) in the piles of impoverished right-wing counties throughout the nation is because of the relatively low population density. It's harder to mug somebody if you have to drive to find a victim.

Is it because illegals aren't arrested or because cities are now downgrading serious crimes to misdemeanors?

I live in Cary, NC. It's very diverse and everyone has respect for one another and treats everyone equally Maybe we all need to hide in our houses fearing those illegals?

If an illegal alien kills someone in a liberal city and there's no conservatives there to care about it.....is it really a crime?

Wrong, as usual. The have more jobs, more people and MORE crime.

Quote:
The national average is four violent crimes/1,000 residents. Every one of the 15 most liberal cities in the US has a higher violent crime rate than the national average. Twelve of the 15 have a violent crime rate that is at least double the national average. Two of them have a violent crime rate that is six times the national average.

...eight of the 15 most conservative cities have violent crime rates at or below the national average. Only two of the 15 have violent crime rates that are twice as high as the national average. The most dangerous conservative city (Lubbock, Texas) is safer than all but four of the liberal cities.
So there is a clear correlation here: Cities with a lot of violent crime tend to vote Democratic, while cities with relatively low levels of violent crime tend to vote Republican.
Or has already been discussed on CD http://www.city-data.com/forum/polit...nt-cities.html

Or from another source (that will surely be discounted) Data in! Sanctuary cities have higher crime rates
