Looks like the World's 5th largest economy has a failed, weak medical infrastructure. Rather than spending 20 billion or more on illegal aliens it needs to update it's medical infrastructure.

https://www.kff.org/medicaid/state-i...:%22desc%22%7D

Part of the issue is that California liberals refuse to find Medicaid like other states. California liberals choose to only reimburse primary care at 52 percent of Medicare rates. Compared to 126% in Alaska and 98% in North Dakota and Wyoming.

California has also 12 million people out of 39 million which means very low reimbursement rates and there is also the fact many nurses there make six-figures because of the strong unions.

https://www.kff.org/health-reform/st...:%22desc%22%7D

I wonder how many illegal aliens are overwhelming the medical infrastructure in California and making it difficult for America born senior-citizens and those with weakened immune systems and health-conditions to get immediate care.

It is no co-incidence that the reason so much of California in bed with the flu is because of the third-world living conditions that the Democrat state offers it's residents.

When the lower ends of the California caste system are living in cramped little apartments, the overcrowded classrooms have some of the largest class sizes in America.

It's a flu outbreak across the USA.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/overwhe...ay-california/

Per the link from OP:

.... it's not just California. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that 26 states and New York City were experiencing high levels of flu-like illness as of last week.

Did you read the article? The epidemic is happening in half of the US, including the red states of Kentucky, West Virginia, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Louisiana, Texas, Nebraska, Kansas, and Indiana.

It is not going on in the blue states of New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, or Vermont. Do you actually think no one lives in "cramped little apartments' in New York?

If it is worse in California it is not because of "cramped little apartments" but because of the anti-vaccination movement, which is concentrated in the upper classes in California, not its lower classes.

Maybe they should have been to ready for outbreak rather than having such system that barely functions in the best of times and basically collapses during the winter months.

It looks like this the new normal with the tremendous amounts of international travel where the worst viruses in third-world countries are just a plane flight away, a massive amount of third-world immigrants living in crowded conditions going to extremely crowded schools.

Doesn't help that there pathetic health infrastructure is more and more reliant and very-low reimbursement rate Medicaid which reimburses medical services at a very low rate compared to states like Alaska, North Dakota and Wyoming.

For-profit healthcare facilities have a financial disincentive for being prepared for these outbreaks because most of the time the capacity (beds, etc) sit unused.

Not so much that it's an anti-vaccination movement as this years flu vaccine is only 10% effective on this years flu strain.

....Flu doesn’t just come from 3rd world countries. We got some glimpses of how bad the season might be from Australia. It hits the Southern Hemisphere first since the seasons are opposite.

That’s just one point. You should submit your thoroughly researched and detailed medical epidemic guide to the US government so they can do it “right”.

They are. They have a plan in place and are executing the plan. Just like all the other states with flu outbreaks. They know flu outbreaks are strong possibilities and they plan ahead.

It's pretty standard stuff really - no surprise.

It's not third-world immigrants who are refusing to vaccinate. You will find more unvaccinated kids in Beverly Hills than you will in El Monte or Paramount

California has 76 for-profit hospitals. They are huge on for-profit ownership. They also have lots and lots and lots of six-figure union nurses so they can't hire as many per-capita as other states.

What is interesting while California liberals throw tantrums insisting on single-payer health-care, yet they have 76 hospitals that for for-profit investor owned hospitals.

Another interesting thing is that university will be back in session in a week or two and many of the international students are from some of the crowded and dense cities and the university students will be sitting in dirty classrooms coughing and sneezing away.
