If this story is true, it's another indicator of what I've been saying, that the investigation is wrapping up, as least as to it pertaining to Trump.
If Trump's lawyers agree to an interview, it would likely be in the form of written questions.
Indeed, if I were an attorney for Mr. Trump, I would insist on written questions, so that I could answer the questions at my leisure, while Mr. Trump enjoys executive time.

I think it should be a face-to-face interview. To make it simpler for Mr. Trump to understand the questions, I would suggest that Mr. Mueller employ hand puppets, with puppets representing the President, Don Junior, Mr. Manafort, Ivanka, as well as some Russian puppets.
I found some Russian and even a Trump hand puppet photos, but I don't seem to be able to copy and paste. Form such images in your minds eye.

Trump might be freaking out but the team of Mafia style lawyers he has aren't going to be intimidated. I'd be surprised that Mueller does this, but anything is possible. I don't think he needs the interview to complete his investigation, but it's all upside for Mueller. He's just hoping that Trump will say something stupid or try some ridiculous lie. Trump still thinks he is in the world of New York real estate and that he can BS his way out of any jam.

I doubt it, this investigation is most likely over, and this interview is just a formality before Trump is officially cleared by Mueller.
