So long..sucker

" Stephen K. Bannon is stepping down from his post as executive chairman of Breitbart News, the company will announce on Tuesday.
Mr. Bannon’s departure, which was forced by a onetime financial patron, Rebekah Mercer, comes as Mr. Bannon remained unable to quell the furor over remarks attributed to him in a new book in which he questions President Trump’s mental fitness and disparages his elder son, Donald Trump Jr."
Funny, a few months ago he was a genius... well we know how well Republicans can spot genius anyways.

In his own words - he turned Breitbart into a platform for the alt-right.

Breitbart didn't do it alone. INFOwars has more web exposure that Breitbart.
Alex Jones was called out by name a few dozen times, during the campaign.
He took the flack, because he was over the target.

Drudge had the most exposure, but did no commentary or guests to explain things.

Sure Bent---Alex Jones got some airtime..because he was freakin' crazy and people couldn't look away.

Bannon crafted the whole alt/right-Trump narrative and advised the President from the beginning. You tell me..being a fair sampling of the alt/right...who do you follow ideologically..Trump or Bannon?

Trump is coming to the center..you can see it everyday.

The alt/right is being kicked to the curb.

Bannon was a Ted Cruz guy....
Bannon didn't come aboard until after Manafort was gone, at the request of Preibus, once Trump had secured the Repub nominee.

Nope. The Mercers were Cruz guys until Bannon convinced them Trump could win and Cruz could not.

Bannon saw Trump could pull it off in 2016 early on, and Steve was in for Trump as soon as he saw how the primaries were shaking out. He's known Trump since 2011, and was just waiting until he saw someone who fit his own agenda the best.
Once he realized that was Trump, he tightened his relationship with Trump. When Trump's campaign began to fall apart after the convention, Bannon was able to step in and put some focus back into the Clown Corral in the nick of time.

That's why Trump made him is most senior advisor afterward. They both vastly underestimated the power of the GOP establishment, and when McConnell laid the law down to Trump, he had to cut Bannon loose. But Bannon stayed close until he insulted Trump's kids. That was his worst mistake.

The Mercers financed Trump, and bought a share of Brietbart. They got what they wanted, but Bannon was only a convenience to them who suddenly became a liability instead of a convenience. So they cut him out of Brietbart, the only power base Bannon had left.

The Mercers do not want the KKK messing with them and their agenda. Bannon is going to have a hard time finding another platform for his anarchy now.

But once a pirate, always a pirate. Bannon still is a wealthy man. If he wants to continue, he will be forced to do it on his own dime. Or he may prefer to stay home (wherever that may be- Bannon moves around a lot) and drink instead. Who knows?

Sometimes..you must remember that the map is not the territory--Bannon was all about the General Election...he marshaled the base..and you know this.

Bannon was a Ted guy--as a hired gun for Mercer & co...because they thought Cruz would win....Bannon sees himself as a kingmaker and the power behind the throne--I give him the one...and he had the other..until he f'd it up.

But Trump..as you can see..really is not an ideological kind of guy...Bannon filled that space..and now Kushner and Ivanka..and all those Goldman-Sachs guys---they're driving the Trump car.

Bannon was inside the tent pissing out...now he's on the outside..pissing in.

Bannon is gone and Trump is off to Davos to pal around with the globalist elite. The populist drain the swamp bs didn't last even a year.

I think some of Trump's base..esp. the alt/right--might form a power place for Bannon. Platform? The net will do just fine.

Basically, I think Bannon is through..being in the inner circle..he never came closer to living his dream out as he did with Trump. The chance will not come again for him, I think.

I feel a move back to the center coming...People everywhere are saying, "Something must be done."

We want stability..we love a car wreck..but then we drive past..being the wreck is not nearly as fun.

Oh well..it's always so academic for us...Which R will prevail...is about the only doubt here in Idaho.
