Just think about it for a minute. This isn’t hard. It’ll come to you. Read a few threads if you need a visual aid.

Historically the democrats were actually the ones who were racist. In fact they were the ones who opposed the civil rights movement. So my question still stands, how does being a republican automatically makes some a racist?

You're forgetting that you're talking about the Dixiecrats in the South way back in the day. Well, what happened when LBJ signed the Civil Rights Acts and the Voting Rights Acts that these Dixiecrats opposed? Well, they were ripe for the picking when Nixon rolled out his Southern Strategy - they moved towards the Republicans. Like Trent Lott, Strom Thurmond, and Jesse Helms. Who aren't known for their enlightened views on race.

Only reason Trump does anything is for the benefit of Trump.

I’m not talking about “historically,” I’m talking about NOW!

Republicans weren’t crazy about Civil Rights either. My own Republican Senator (Goldwater) voted against it, and he was the quintessential Republican.

Well said. In fact, MLK had some pretty critical words for Goldwater back then:

Martin Luther King on Barry Goldwater: Surprising or Otherwise Interesting Primary Sources, Part IX

Yep, it was nothing but a PR move, just as the tax cuts now sending millions raises and bonuses, letting the military decimate ISIS in less than a year, pulling out of TPP, cutting red tape and regulations, getting XLP going, actually beginning to fix the VA, getting us out of the Paris BS deal... it has all been for good press... which he gets none of no matter what he does no matter how good it is, so WTF are you talking about?

Didn't vote for him, but I will over any garbage candidate the left will muster in 2020.

Maybe the queen will run again. After all, 3rd times the charm.

So you don't actually have evidence.

For example:
Russia Russia Russia... just because people keep screaming it over and over doesn't make it evidence.

See how simple that can be? Common sense is our friend.

Yet MLK and his family remained devout Republicans. He wouldn't touch today's Democratic Party with someone else 10' pole, no way, no how. He would cringe at what it has devolved into while decrying his name as if they represent anything he actually stood for.

What a joke!

I didn't know that they were Republicans. Is that true? I personally am a leftist Democrat so that would surprise me.

I'm hoping for Elizabeth Warren, Maxine Waters or Kamala Harris. Hillary isn't liberal enough.
