There have been two astonishing stories about Twitter and Google.

Project Veritas is currently running a story about a senior Twitter engineer..."(San Francisco) A Project Veritas undercover investigation has revealed a senior network security engineer at Twitter stating that his company is “more than happy” to turn over the private communications and deleted tweets of President Donald Trump to the Department of Justice. If true, it is yet unknown whether Twitter is voluntarily disclosing this sensitive information or acting under a court order. Twitter is currently in the midst of defending itself from left-leaning criticism that President Trump hasn’t been removed from the enormous media platform for violations of Twitter’s Terms of Service"

A publicly traded company trying to help take down a president? If true these people are insane. And yesterday there was the story in the Daily Caller about Google and their new fact-check feature that targets conservative web sites.

Google's Fact-Checking Is Liberal Bias | The Daily Caller

Try it. Google the Daily Caller. Scroll down past the first hit. You'll see a description of the Daily Caller and two columns...Writes About and Reviewed Claims. In the Reviewed Claims column Google then links to the politicized Snopes, Politifact and Fact Check to decide whether a story is true or not. Now try HuffPo, Salon or Daily Kos. All you get is the Writes About column.

I know you libs are going to love this, but these companies are straying into deep political territory. Remember how Microsoft once thought they were too big for government intervention?

Google is going nowhere. You're correct that no company is too big to fall, but there is nothing that I see in any foreseeable future to take them down.

Twitter's future is pretty uncertain, largely because their monetization options are not very great. Really has nothing to do with Trump.

What do you want Twitter to do? Hide evidence from the DOJ??

Google is using the fact checking tools that we currently have. Give them credit for smart enough to ignore fake news site like Fox News and Breitbart.

POTUS knows that we have a first amendment that give our press and media the right to print news, opinions and even his double talk and lies.

To answer your question -- they will continue to thrive...Trump or no Trump.

I'm sure Google will. Twitter not so much. But will they survive in their current forms. Arguments have been made that Google and the other social medias are essential public services that should be government regulated just like any utility.

Once companies start blatantly picking political winners and losers they set themselves up to take on one political party or the other. That's a losing proposition. The government won't allow itself to be so openly challenged. They crushed Microsoft, they can crush Google.

Party lines were real fun.

I wasn't aware that Microsoft was crushed. It looks like, much to my disgust, they are doing just fine, in spite of Windows 10 being forced on us and being a whole giant operating system of spyware.

Um... Microsoft is still the 5th most valuable company on the planet, they have never been crushed by anyone or anything.
