She and the thousands of Dominican-American doctors prove him wrong every day when they don their white coats. Some of the best and brightest of them are my god parents, my aunt and part my of extended family. The richness and beauty of the Domincan Republic amid the political corruption and financal mismanagement produces beautiful, kind, smart people who give everything to this country.
Because Lord knows the DR doesn't need any competent doctors to take care of its own people.
Our country is the land of opportunity. Immigrants land here seeking opportunities and a better life. The Germans did it. The Irish did it. It is strange to say we don’t like people from X countries simply because these countries lack the freedoms and/or prosperity we Americans enjoy. Or, to borrow Trump’s word, that is a “****hole” attitude that is the polar opposite of all that we hold dear as Americans.

A smarter person would have used a better argument ipso facto you are in the class of people who are threatened by high-achieving immigrants. It's not the doctors and lawyers who are threatened by immigrants. It's the barely-achieving types who are. And you can spot the types who are barely achieving by the way they put thoughts together.
If you democrats want someone to blame in all this you can blame yourselves.
You are the ones who set up these “protections”.
You are the ones who are selling out your fellow taxpayers for votes.
You are the ones taking advantage of those poor souls seeking a better life.
You are the ones taking monetary kickbacks and political contributions from sham outfits like catholic charities who “place” these people in a society they can’t understand.

For every American that emmigrates to a foreign country, we will allow one immigrant from that country to come here. If no Americans want to move to Haiti, no Haitians come here.
If Trump wants to be a broker, deal maker, and leader of our country - he can't go around continually insulting people in such words and tones.
If he had self-control he could use tact to point out that Canada's immigration system focuses more on merit and there are benefits to that, rather than trash other countries as if everyone there is a piece of crap.

Our needs were different back then and so were job opportunities, resources, etc. We had no welfare back then either you either sank or swam. Our population numbers were much smaller. Why can't you people grasp that?

No, it is not. Americans do not believe that we should turn our country into a "sh*thole". But we do not need any immigrants from anywhere, so we don't even need to discuss criteria for choosing immigrants.
