I'm not a Republican, but I'm not all that thrilled or proud of the US's descent into third-world status. Because that's what our politicians are doing.
Here we go again with that same old tired straw man. Democrats are not Socialists or Marxists. Democrats advocate a "mixed economy" where some regulation and some social programs exist side-by-side with a vigorous capital market economy. Democrats also advocate "social democracy" where power is distributed more to the people and out of the hands of a few elite wealthy autocrats. That is not Marxism, not even close.
If you knew anything about our Constitution, you would know that our Constitution itself gave the power to the people. That's what it was about.

You need to study "progressivism;" what it is and it's origin. It was imported to the United States from Europe through the University System. It is Marxist-Socialism. Woodrow Wilson (who was no friend of the Constitution) is called "the father of American progressivism." He is the one who coined the phrase, "living document" for the Constitution.
Given the far-right's desire for everything from "bible law" - just Sharia law with slightly different ways you'll be executed - and reducing personal freedoms in every possible way (except guns, of course), it seems that they are the major political party that hates what this nation represents. Heck, these are the same people out protesting and running people over with cars to show support for Confederate snowflake statues! Not exactly the type of people who really love this nation...

I didn’t realize high taxes and open borders were what the US is about.
Republicans are fed a steady diet, a continuous drip, of hate. From Breitbart, to Fox, to Rush, to all the other wingnut websites pushing hate, these people pretty much hate everything, and they are a cancer to this country. The corporations and billionaires who are profiting from the destruction of our government services and the privatization and subsequent profiteering are telling these gullible people to hate the "others" (gays, liberals, blacks, Hispanics, etc) instead of those who are actually responsible for their disenfranchised, poor, and oft time pathetic, low income lives, and, ultimately, this hate bleeds into all other aspects of their lives, including a hatred of America.
With cancer, you excise it. With Republicans, we are stuck with them. Only education can cure them.
Well, they are in favor of cuts to education and saddling college students with massive amounts of student loan debt that can't even be discharged via bankruptcy as well.
