Consider the lobster, and, when in Switzerland, definitely don't just boil it alive.

In an effort to avoid cruelty against the large marine crustaceans, Swiss government officials have banned the practice of plunging live lobsters into boiling hot water, a common culinary practice. Apparently some PETA-types think it is cruel.

Probably because Lobsters are not raised in Ca so the Ca chapters of PETA have are not aware of the new law, which btw probably can not even be enforced. Now that the news is out, you can be pretty sure A will follow asap.

There is a thread on the lobsters already, so is this an attempt to California bash? I shan't respond, anymore, I don't eat lobster or feed trolls.

Yep knock them out then .... boil them.

I have not been in a restaurant where they are kept on ice, rather in water where you can even pick your lobster.

Kill them by other means first before boiling. There is no suffering that way. I get it now.

Just when I think I've read/heard it all.

They can't prove a thing if there's no evidence. Melted butter and lemon juice should help hasten that.

If you kill them first they inject a poison and are inedible. That is why Switzerland says knock them out first.

Then boil them while still alive but not conscious.
