It has nothing to do with the 1862 revolt.
The Hui people are generally peaceful now, and they are no longer predominant in those regions.

In recent years China has become more strict on Muslims due to international influences. Some Muslims (esp. Uyghurs) are brainwashed by extremists or even joined the ISIS. Saudi Arabia also sponsors a lot of mosques to teach people "traditional" Islamic doctrines,

Western culture is not cohesive, and thus I say Communism derives from western culture (not only Christian culture).
Many of the ideas there are not found in, say, Japanese/Chinese/Indian/Arabian cultures but reflect western tradition.

Communists organize regular meetings, develop members with rituals, design constitution, use arts (music) to promote the idea, ... all features of western religion(s), some exclusively so. The emphasis on "being equal" is also quite western.

Islam came directly out of Christianity, just not out of Western Christianity. It came out of Nestorian Christianity.

Marx was definitely a westerner as Germany is part of Western Europe. Trier, his home town, is far closer to France than it is to Poland, and Cologne, where he began his poltiical and intellectual activities, is closer to Belgium and the Netherlands (and France) than it is to Poland.

Marx was a product of the German intellectual tradition and the Prussian education system, at the time the best in the world, and he was also influenced by French and British thinkers. Definitely a Westerner. Marx intended his theories to be applied in Germany.

Communism, while destructive, definitely had Western origins.

Great - we do that here to some extent but the Fundies are working hard to put superstition and male dominance back into schools and brainwashing.

China looks over here - and at the middle east - and africa.....and is learning an important lesson. Don't let religion take hold of your public policy, government, decisions or lifestyles.

A person can meditate or pray or read (pretty much) what they want, but keep that chit out of the real world we are attempting to live in.

They ill be rewarded for this by becoming the #1 country in the world. Furthermore, they will do it without spending 4-6 trillion on ways that accomplish nothing.

Now all we need to do is learn the same lessons.

Even worse. It took 2 posts before someone completely ignored China's actions and tried to make it about the US.

Pardon me - I assumed when we are talking politics we are talking how it related to the modern world and especially the USA.

Are you saying that these stories are for our reading and then we should apply them to S. Africa?

Mao has nothing to do with ethnic conflicts between Muslims and other Chinese there. I don't know why you jumped there.
