Yes the Reps have the control but as I see they are trying to reach out to the Dems but they are too smug and spiteful to do anything that might make it appear that they are helping Trump.
There is even a handful of them that are refusing to attend the state of the union address. How can you help/change anything if you don't even bother to show up?

The Dems attaching their demands for illegal aliens to the funding is ridiculous. They are 2 separate issues.
This entire crisis is unnecessary. The Dems should either get on board to help or get out of the way and go home.

I wonder how their voters view their do nothing but divide and hate stance?

That cannot be emphasized enough.
Gotta love how people can't seem to find blame in the Freedom Caucus douches but can blame the relatively moderate Dems for not going along. lol

Hard right wingers > center left Dems huh?

Republicans control the House, Senate, and White House. If the government shuts down it will be because Republicans can’t govern and the American people will know who to blame.

I just can't phantom how Democrats will defend criminal aliens to the point where their actions will be responsible for shutting down the government. Seems traitorous to me. Isn't there something in the oath when they take office that mentions abiding by and enforcing the laws of the nation??
Ask Ted Cruz. He's the expert.

That's my thought too. The Republicans created this situation by not working across the aisle and now they are reaping what they sow. In the end it will all get sorted out and it won't be a huge issue (and people will forget come election time). But the lesson is Congress has to work together like adults and find common ground and make compromises with the other side (no matter who that other side is or who is in power). This is the well being of the United States after all, not a kid's game where one side wins or loses... when it's us against them, then everyone loses.

I fully support the Democrats who have been excluded from the health care bill and the tax bill. They were literally not allowed to participate. These bills were written by Republicans and voted on by Republicans. They have maneuvered in every possible way to exclude Democrats and they would do it now if they could. Let us not forget that Ted Cruz did not attend Obama's SOU address. They could shout "You lie!" to Trump and I'd be fine with it because Republicans have already blazed those trails. Republicans made this bed, they can lie in it. Republicans started this with Obama, they should not be surprised now.

Before the internet, the TV and radio media use to run the country on a narrative.
The media(even FOX), could pull the heartstrings of the masses in any direction they wanted. They could keep the masses in the dark on the things that would counter their narrative, they were pushing to change. They could lie and no one could fact check them. The media could even cover up for people they really liked, or had paid them to be their special friend.

The media under the FCC thumb, started to lose control during the Clinton Presidency. Drudge broke the Monica scandal, that would have never made it to print, without the world wide web and good `ol AOL.

Today, the media is trying to run the nation by their narrative like they had for 100 years of radio and TV.
Alternative media, is killing the old "gate keepers" MSM can no longer suppress the truth, that their lives depended on being able to do.

You see MSM, doing the death dance, before they pile up to take their last breath.

Indeed, the Junior Senator from Canada, er, Texas, has been surprisingly quiet of late. Recall how in 2013 he was so often on the House floor that some people began to wonder if he were a Representative instead of a Senator? Yes, Mr. Cruz was all for shutting down the government if Obama did not agree to cutting out the money for Obamacare.

It is a wonder to think of. Mr. Cruz is up for re-election this coming November. One would think he would be constantly in front of the cameras, taking a position. I cannot 'phantom' it at all.

Trump is the worst president in the history of this country and will forever be a stain on the Republican party.
