I would say yes and put a wall around California.

Maybe use eminent domain to seize the Trump National Golf Club and build housing for homeless transgender illegals on it? I wonder what the repercussions would be. (Trump's advocacy of Kelo v. New London and Agenda 21 would make him look like a hypocrite on this issue, but I'm curious as to how this would play out. I am definitely NOT advocating it, just considering what would happen under this scenario.)
And exactly what legitimate public works project (nothing involving housing for homeless transgender illegal aliens from outer space, obviously) are we contemplating, such that CA would have to consider acquiring this Trump property or that in order to have a place upon which to build the same?

A highway? A bridge? A pipeline? High-speed rail? Anything remotely resembling a bonafide public works project?

None, you say? We're not building anything at all on anything Trump currently owns? So CA would be attempting to use eminent domain to expropriate assets from Trump merely out of political spite?

Too bad. So sad. Eminent domain isn't available merely for the purpose of stealing someone's property simply because you don't like them.

Not even in California.

And that's how it would play out. Which is to say, of course, that it wouldn't.

And there's your answer.

milton is right. and of course it would play out in a long hard fought court battle that would cost the state of california a ton of money to prosecute, and after losing trump would probably sue the state for prosecutorial misconduct, win a huge judgement from the state, and it would again ultimately wend its way to the supreme court again, where trump would likely win the case, ultimately costing the state another ton of money, beyond the judgement against them.

after those losses in the courts, the state would then raise taxes on everyone, since if they only raised them on trump they would again lose in court, and have an even larger deficit/debt.

I think Trump's net worth was somewhere around 4.5B prior to his Presidency. What's yours?

Is this something that has been discussed outside of your head or is this just another stupid post?

Eminent domain is not possible without government intervention.

Trump's net worth was $300 million before his presidency. While very wealthy he is not a billionaire although he was at one time.

Forbes said he was worth 3.7 billion before the election. Where did you dig up $300 million?
