Yes there needs to be a crime, what are they charging them with other than having a political opinion.
There doesn't have to be a crime. There just has to be an investigation at the time the evidence is destroyed. If you destroy evidence with the knowledge that there is a pending investigation, then it's obstruction of justice.

The agent didn't destroy the text. Reuters has reported that the FBI had a glitch in the system that caused texts from a specific time period not to be stored. They are working of retrieving them. If you know anything about social media, computers, and phones they can rarely be permanently deleted. The FBI has admitted they are missing so I'm sure they will be found.
The Trumpers are just trying to whip up a storm to distract from Trump's failed admin. Trump is an albatross and he is looking to spread blame. he is attacking the FBI and other bodies through cutouts.

According to texts, the corrupt senior FBI and DoJ Secret Society was formed the day after the election to protect the Dem nominee while undermining the new President. Interesting that FBI Peter Strzok said he didn't want to participate in the Mueller investigation because he knew there was nothing there. Didn't want to work hard for nothing or maybe wanted more time to screw his lover Page?
This sounds like a movie only it's scarily real. Hard to believe this is happening in the US and not Russia or China. I want to see an open live broadcast of this trial when the smoke clears.
