I don't think contemporary democrats actually like America.
And the America they want has little to do with our constitution or principles.
Anything wrong in the world -- they blame America.

A lot of people who work for a living don't want their taxes raised so that someone can get generous government benefits and stay at home.

Plus, not many people want 60% taxes like in those Scandinavian countries.

The Dems have become puppets for big business. I didn’t think something like that could happen but it has. They hide behind social justice and race bait but in the end they support businesses that do not want to pay the wages that white and black folks require.

That doesn't get mentioned much but most corporations are promoting the democrat platform of open borders, immigration, multiculturalism, diversity, globalism, PC, white people suck, Trump sucks, social justice etc.

I don't understand the reasoning other than future voters who likely won't even bother to register to vote. Unlike old Republicans, the "new" Democrats voters in the future will be to busy dealing illicit drugs, changing diapers and trying to automate everything than to vote.

Every thing the party touches goes straight to heck in a handbasket immediately. They want as many illegal aliens, drug traffickers from Mexico with an open border, third-world refugees as possible and than the ignore it and act like these third-world conditions are just an urban experience.
They aren't -- and none of what you said is anything but emotional rhetoric from a frustrated conservative.

That actually may be true, in both cases. Europe is a DISASTER because of its open borders. Also, the Republican Party is populated by many corporate whores loyal to corrupt businessmen who also like open borders.

Why do people act like illegal immigration is suddenly a new issue. Many presidents have tried to do something but the problem is no one can come to an agreement. Both parties are to blame. But it really started with Reagan giving amnesty to almost 3 million undocumented immigrants. I think that was wonderful. Was there an outrage then.

What was wonderful about Reagan giving amnesty to millions of illegal aliens (no such thing as undocumented immigrants)? Because of that we now have at least 11 million illegal aliens here today. Rewarding law breaking only encourages more.

No one has claimed that this is a new issue just that it's accelerated over the past couple of decades and needs to be addressed before it's too late.
