Did your company make the list of 250 Companies Announce Bonuses, Wage Hikes, 401(k) Match Increases Due to Tax Cuts ?

Check the list to see if you are among the winners thanks to our great President Donald J. Trump.

Many on the list are not commonly known but some are giving out really great benefits to employees.

See how your company might be compared to others.

Not on the list. Ask at work, why not ?

Nope, but I did get a few under Obama. But of course Obama wasn't so vain that he felt he had to claim all of them as some sort of personal victory.

Nope. I did get an email explaining the changes expected on our paychecks.

"Below is one example of the impact of these changes. Thisexample is for an individual claiming Married Filing Jointly with one allowanceand an annual salary of $30,000. For simplicity, only the Federal Income TaxWithholding Calculation is shown without benefits and other taxes.

Susan Wageearner

Annual Wage
2017 $30,000.00
2018 $30,000.00

Annual Allowance
2017 $4,050.00
20118 $4,150.00
Wage Less Allowances
2017 $29,950.00
2018 $25,850.00
Tax Bracket Base
2017 $8,650.00
2018 $11,550.00
Base Withholding
2017 $0.00
2018 $0.00
Wages in Excess of Base
2017 $17,300.00
2018 $14,300.00
Additional Over Base
(15% for 2017; 12% for 2018)
2017 $1,730.00
2018 $1,430.00
Base Withholding Plus Excess
2017 $1,730.00
2018 $1,430.00
Weekly Withholding (Divided by 52)
2017 $33.27
2018 $27.50

Weekly Withholding Tax Savings
$5.77

Break out the party hats. Someone earning $30k a year will see an extra $5.77 a week. Now they can buy that new house, take that long awaited vacation, or help their child attend college. But they better hurry. That gravy train ends in 2025 .

A few what ? Small wage increases typical in his slow stagnate recovery. Many lost their jobs and went several years without a cost of living increase.

Did you ask your employer why with the new tax cuts he isn't willing to pass some benefit to the employee ? Just like a raise sometimes you have to ask for it. It helps if you can show how productive and motivated you are.

The good news is you can leave the low wage job that doesn't appreciate its workforce as better jobs are being created.
No raise in pay from 2017 to 2018 is not a good sign for the long term. Maybe you are worth more than you think ?

I own my own company, and since I am getting a tax hike, it is a moot question.

When I was still a full time employee, we got bonuses every year. It is not a new invention.

There are 8 million companies in US, and if 250 are giving bonuses, that's great, but its only 0.003% of all companies.

Well that's just an ignorant statement.

What you probably mean to say is that you didn't see companies running out to claim they're doing it because of a President in hopes of currying favor.
