Mr Gruber(the MIT Professor that led the design of ACA) said most Americans were too stupid to understand ACA was designed to fail, hes right and those people are the Democrats that voted it into law

Because in case you have not sorted this out yet there IS NO LIMIT to how hard they are going to squeeze us for every last penny in our pockets. Because they CAN, because health care is NOT on open marketplace like buying a car or a refrigerator. It's called inflexible demand and if you don't understand what that means, that is exactly why this situation will never get better. And exactly why you will die without a dollar in your bank account.
Before the ACA I had decent.... not great...but decent health insurance.

It would probably be considered a Cadillac plan by today's standards.

Very shortly after Obamacare was passed my premiums and deductibles began going up.

Every year they got worse.....

Fast forward to now:

My premiums have tripled.

My deductible has quadrupled.

And just this last year we were informed that nothing is covered by a copay anymore.

That means everything.... office visits, tests, checkups x-rays etc are paid completely out of pocket until I hit my now massively expensive deductible.

Basically, I have no insurance at all other than prescription drug coverage, until I spend 8k.

And then it starts over at 0 the next year.

And you expect me to believe that this has nothing to do with Obamacare??

Lolz.

Well, back in the real world, rate of increases were slowing down. Let that sink in, without the ACA, things would probably be worse today....and reports are already coming in that things will get worse with Trumps killing of ACA.

The advent of expensive plans with high deductibles started creeping in america well before Obama. It was the path we were on. Your costs were not due to the ACA, they would have gone up regardless.

There's no such thing as "Trumpcare." That's a pathetic attempt to shift the blame for the disastrous effects of Obamacare onto someone else. All Trump has done is BEGIN the process of repairing the damage that decades of government intrusion has done to the healthcare industry.

If you, or anyone else, believes that there's a quick fix, especially a legislative one, to the high cost of healthcare, I have a bridge or two to sell you.

Exactly there is no quick fix -- but we were soldl there was by Trump during his campaign.

Come on now -- Trump thought it was an easy fix.

It isn't. It's complicated and he admittedly found that out.

Even all of us knew it was complicated -- come on now.....

Yep. Healthcare will now be Trump's baby.

There is no quick fix, period. Yet Trump, ran this on his campaign...that everyone would be covered for cheap. Now, we are seeing that costs will actually get WORSE under Trump.

Can't wait for this stupid ACA system to implode. Soon nobody will be able to afford the plans, so they'll just pay the tax for not having insurance. Then maybe we can finally get a decent single payer system.

The inability of the Republicans to craft an acceptable replacement is causing insurance premiums to remain unstable and rise more.

That's what the insurance companies have said.

That's the reality.

They need to fix it.

Obama also ran on everyone being covered....what happened?

BTW, the premiums in Alabama went up over 230% prior to trump anything?

They were not going up that fast prior to the ACA....

If you replace the word "Trump" with "Obama," you have an equally accurate statement. The truth is, Obama broke the healthcare system. Fixing it won't be easy, and it won't be painless - but it still needs to be fixed.
