Or so says writer and NBC News contributor Sarah Kendzior. The logic works like this:
- White supremacists want to stop immigration.
- Stephen Miller wants to reduce overall immigration and make it more merit based, so he's a white supremacist.
- Ross Douthat, a columnist for the NYT, does not support Miller but wrote that Miller should not be banned from negotiating on immigration because lots of Americans actually do share his views on the issue.
- The NYT did not fire Douthat or refuse to print his column.
White supremacist=not being only expressly pro-immigration. See it's not a bad thing at all.
... not being expressly pro-mass immigration of the poor and under-skilled. Even if you are pro-immigration but want to reduce overall numbers and raise the average level of human capital coming into your country you are a white supremacist.
Who really cares? Hopefully the NYT hires people because they think they're good writers. As I've said many times here, I think it's a losing strategy to for conservatives to yell, "You're the real racists!" and try to outdo liberals at political correctness.
The point of this thread is not to accuse the NYT of white supremacy but to highlight one more instance of mainstream liberal politicians and journalists wading off the deep end and revealing themselves as extremists. Trump has really drawn the nutters out.
The left is headed for a huge, off the rails crash. You can only maintain this level of hysteria for so long before someone looks under the bed and sees that there is no bogeyman lurking.
Christ, remember when ad hominem was conidered a logical fallacy and people had to make actual intellectual arguments. These ****heels need to stop worrying about other people's inner thought processes and start making intellectual points. If they think that a nation should not have borders and should not be allowed to defend those borders, then they have to say why.
All they are doing by denouncing everyone and everything as racist is legitimizing real racists via desensitization.
Remember the good old days in 1964 when the Democrats assured us that the new immigration bill wouldn't bring stark change?
And here we are 40 years later with the nation at each other's throats and as divided as it was immediately before the civil war.
In addition, the liberal push for ever more political territory on the issue continues, in spite of the starkly negative change in national politics, crime, poverty, and community cohesion.
What I want to know is when anyone to the Right of CNN and MSNBC is going to stop believing their BS, stop being intimidated by their tactics, and draw a hard line on any further political slide. The initial lie from 1964 is enough to warrant that, but so is the obvious truth that their eternal revolution will stop at no point in time if they have their way. So it may as well stop now while there is some semblance of a nation left.
