having visited many times during my 20+ year tech career the only thing I like about CA is the weather. I would not live there despite many attempts at employers asking me to relocate.
I think for me personally, I wouldn’t want to live in Alaska because of the cold and lack of light. Otherwise, no, California isn’t the worst by far. I miss it. Year round plants, the beach, the food...sigh.
California is a beautiful state with great weather, miles and miles of shoreline and some nice mountain ranges. The only thing wrong with California is Californians. Get rid of them and it will be nice again.
Worst state in the union? Maybe, but I'd have to say NJ is worse. People are even more obnoxious, politics are as bad and it's frickin ugly, not to mention they get snow. When it snows in Jersey, hell really has frozen over. Though coming from NY, I have to say it's a tough call.
No. CA has its share of problems, but most of the southern states are far worse.
