Chances are good the lung cancer was from smoking, but you never know. My father-in-law never smoked a cigarette (or pot) in his life and he died from lung cancer.
Smoking pot is a health risk, no way around it.
All the meanwhile cigarette smoking is banned from a lot of places, because of the health risk.
But pushing pot to be legal. Great message to our youth.
Any type of smoking should be banned from public places, it's the height or rudeness.
I don't think pot should be illegal, but the hippies and stoners who think it is the end all and be all of existence are as annoying a bunch as you can find. I think once it become legal some of the furvor around it will dissipate after a few years when it stops being such an identity thing.
I'll bet he died a much less painless death than people who had lung cancer that either didn't smoke at all late in life or continued to smoke tobacco products. All those people eventually die. You will, too. Would you like the option to go painlessly?
Interesting fantasy, but the reality is that none of us are likely to go "painlessly". Regardless of the health choices we make. Plenty of cancer deaths that have zero to do with smoking. Plenty of other diseases that are going to nail us eventually.
Marijuana...the one area where Republicans actually support leftist policies and think that it's the government's place to protect people from themselves. We can't promote healthy eating and we must protect the interests of the tobacco companies, but weed is the devil's lettuce, God hates it, and it must be illegal.
The article didn't say he died of lung cancer. It said he had lung cancer. People can suffer from a fatal disease and die from something completely different. For example, people can have Lou Gehrig's disease and get shot to death in a robbery. And even if he did, he may have been a heavy cigarette smoker or had a genetic predisposition to lung cancer.
"Peron suffered from lung cancer"
It doesn't take much Scooby to put two and two together
So What. My mother suffered from Parkinson's and medical marijuana helped alleviate her pain and suffering. He was right about medical marijuana and its medicinal effects.
It is disturbing, sad and juvenile to jump up and down with glee as some posters here are doing because of this man's death. He was a pioneer and many thousands are being helped because of medical marijuana and his work.

Maybe, but you can get lung cancer with absolutely no exposure to smoke of any sort. No doubt marijuana smoke is not kind to the lungs, but most users aren't smoking 20 joints a day.

Nicely put, kudos!
No pot but more fat in school cafeterias! Let's serve fried butter!
Smoking pot is very enjoyable but like other inebriants has a downside.
I am all for legalizing it, but let's never kid ourselves that it is not unhealthy,
