We're actually happy about health insurance that is not for profit. So that would actually be the opposite of capitalism.

They are not the first to do this. Its worked well for the few companies that are large enough to do this.

Removed my comments here because, as Reagan once said, I "mis-spoke".

The good news is that is DISRUPTS the current Corporate Health Care Machine and that is exactly why you are hearing that oh-my-God unearthly scream from the health care giants, as evidenced by the 300 point plus decline on the DJIA today.

Cronyism in play here.

Try to start a health insurance company yourself and see how that works out.

Large profit generating companies like these are the epitome of Capitalism You think they're in business for free? Did they go Communist on us

I think it's a great idea, it can get the country out of bed with the Insurance companies that Obama-Care got us into

Jim Clyburn says Democrats are 'in bed' with insurance companies over Obamacare

Not just the insurance companies are ripoff artists. I include those doctors who own an imaging LLC that steers their patients to these places that charge $1200-$1800 for an MRI ...whereas in Canada, you'd pay $200 for the same thing! If the Amazon group owned those machines, how long will those over-priced Imaging Groups last? Too bad, so sad Doc!

And don't get me started on the drug prices. When I started taking blood pressure meds, CVS would charge $20 for a 30 day prescription. Walmart charges me $2.88 for a 90 day refill. The difference ...Walmart's are made in India and CVS's were name-brand American-made. I'll cry all the way to the bank with the savings! Time to "outsource" high medical prices!

Work for them or don't get healthcare, is the final goal.

I like the idea...no middle men trying to profit off of healthcare...healthcare should not be a for profit industry.

You've got a good point here. While this idea may have merit on the surface, and it SOUNDS well meaning, have you ever read much about how Bezos treats his employees? They are nothing more than disposable slaves to his machine. I suppose you could argue that it could end up being a lot like the company store back in the coal mining days. What if you HAD to buy your insurance from the company you work for? What would constrain the consortium from holding your family's feet to the fire?
