I think those days are over. I get what you're saying. I often saw that attitude in my son's religious school, with most of the nuns leaning left. I would agree that the very religious Pope Francis is 100% behind all of the things in your second paragraph.
Yet, the political/religious power base in this country, is 100% opposed to any of those things. Their sole concerns are forcing their Christian biblical morality on the entire population which violates civil rights for some and abortion, abortion, abortion.
I have yet to see evidence that Pope Francis is "very religious". He seems to use religion to further his political agenda. That is not the same as having an abiding and deep faith.
Also I disagree completely with your second paragraph.
For one thing, many denominations in the US have become quite liberal. The Methodist Church, for example, celebrates gay marriage.
For another thing, what evidence do you have that Christians want to force "their Christian biblical morality on the entire population"? I see this used as a talking point without anything to substantiate it. If anything, Christians seem to have a live and let live attitude. It is the progressive left that wants to force everything through the courts. For example, the transgender bathroom thing. I think most people were
content to look the other way or ignore it on occasion. It wasn't until the government got involved and said "rights" HAD to be recognized that people got upset.
Liberals may come to miss the days of the religious right. Religion acts as a moderating force for conservatism in some aspects. Not on libertarian issues, but on issues of welfare.
Religious conservatives are more likely to support policies like prison reform, foreign aid, refugee acceptance, and welfare in general. Religion also has a univeralist aspect, such that you can be accepted by coreligionists even if you are not ethnically or culturally similar.
IF one needs religion for ANY of those things then your most likely doing them out of fear or to get your rewards in heaven "whatever that means." As a HUMAN BEING your should want to help people out not because said religion says you should.
He is politically incorrect. That is more important than anything else to a modern progressive.
“Politically correct” is a term that’s commonly thrown around here, but what exactly does it mean? Where’s the line between being “politically incorrect” and common courtesy and decency? It seems to be seen by some as a carte blanche for language and behavior that Moms in the past would have blistered their kids butts for using.

Is that why they'll harass women entering a clinic that performs abortions over what should be those women's personal choices? Why the radical ones believe they're justified in killing a doctor who performs abortions?

Both 'politically correct' and 'politically incorrect' describe style, NOT substance.
It's a shame so many cannot make that distinction.

Doesn't sound very "live and let live" to me.
Someone who would kill a doctor (or anyone) like that is not a Christian.
He may believe in winning but is that really an admirable quality if it's 'win at all costs'? If 'winning' may include reneging on promises he's made, screwing people on deals, talking out both sides of his mouth, dragging others down for no reason other than sport, acting like a vindictive, petulant 6 year old?
Personally , I have no respect for him as a man and believe he's completely lacking in character, politics has nothing to do with it.
My feelings regarding Trump are the exact same of as yours. They go beyond his political beliefs. He is a man with no moral character. He has no moral compass and will screw anyone to get what he wants. This is a man who has no problem lying about the most smallest of things. Yet people trust him to make decisions that effect all of our lies. I will be 56 years of age next month and have gone thru quite few presidents in my life time. I have disagreed with many over policy but I have never questioned there character. The simple fact that Bush Jr, McCain and Romney have all questioned Trump character tells me this goes beyond politics. Trump has been a ****** his entire life and a tiger never changes his stripes. I would feel the exact same way about him if he was a democrat (his original party). He is a national embarrassment.
