The 1980s Republicans in Congress were quite fiscally conservative.
Only the holdovers from the 70’s. Those elected since the 80’s are only fiscally conservative when a Democrat is president. And no war is EVER too expensive.
I know that republicans have been much bigger spenders than democrats for the last couple decades... but now, in a really good groove with low unemployment and nice corporate earnings and low inflation, a republican president with a pub controlled congress passes a 10 year bill with $1 trillion in annual deficit spending. Are pubs done with restraint? Has Trump beaten the fiscal conservative out of conservative? Does that mean pubs are left only with social conservatism i.e., spend all you want, but no sex, no drugs, no rock and roll, and no colored people?
The strategy is known as “Starve the Beast.” Republicans run up massive debts in order to starve the Federal Government of funds that could be used to benefit ordinary Americans (expanded disability, Medicare, social security, and education).
When Republicans say “look at these massive debts, we must end welfare and student aid!”, that’s the Starve The Beast strategy at work.
1. republicans are still fiscally conservative...and still much more responsible than the tax and tax again and spend, spend, spend fascist liberals
2. Obama had 5 out of 8 years with deficits way over 1 trillion, yet you said nothing.....why is that???
3. while some repubs are the religious right and get into social issues...most are not... more on the right are like myself that want the liberal passed law of 1937 that made hemp illegal
4. liberals have been the ones for decades to keep the black person down, all the while LYING TO THEM about how much they want to help......welfare= a way to keep the poor (especially the AA) in poverty...planned parenthood = eugenics= designed to kill the black babies.
mandatory sterilization....that would be called eugenics....started by the left...infact the founder of planned parenthood , maggy singer, major supporter of eugenics program of the liberals

republicans are still trying to reign in spending...but all the liberals do is say cut the military and double the welfare especially for illegals, and lets make them citizens (rewarding an illegal action) proves how tainted the liberals are
Better to be a tax and spend Democrat than a dine and dash Republican
Having once been the party known as fiscally conservative, the GOP largely has abandoned that platform and we along with our heirs are going to pay a very huge price.
One's current age obviously plays a role, but make no mistake, our children, their children, and their children, etc... are going to be affected. I mean you cannot count on GOP to rein in spending just wait until Pelosi/Schumer and Democrats get into power.
We're all doomed. China will own the USA in another few generations.
