The plan would involve the following actions:

1) Greatly reduce the income-based repayment plans

2) End the public service loan forgiveness program

3) Actively pursue those who aren't paying up
Sounds good to me,My wife worked and put me thru school.

How is the Public service loan forgiveness program a bad thing

Working for charities and the betterment of communities after college, shouldn't receive benefits?

The Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans after you have made 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer.

Make college affordable for people, raise wages, but hey its just easier to blame young people for going after the "American Dream"

Millions of people manage to get through college by, wait for it.....working.

If you want it bad enough there are roommates, fast food jobs and part time work. Total BS someone can't get a degree if they want it. Lame people think they are ENTITLED to other people's money because they are lazy.

If you are that entitled and lazy a degree isn't going to help your work ethic at all.

I do think a lot of people misunderstand how the program works. It's not a free handout.

It's easier to yell at a cloud about young people, though.

No, have you even realized whats going on in this country?

Student loan debt is a huge issue effecting the lives of millions of young people. Who cant afford to buy starter homes due to student loan debt. 1.4 trillion dollars in student loan debt is still out there.

Analysis of recently-released data suggests that almost 40% of borrowers who entered college in 2004 may default on their student loans by 2023.

Students who enrolled in for-profit colleges were twice as likely to default within 12 years as those who entered public universities, while lower parental income and poorer job prospects mean default rates among black graduates are five times those of their white peers.

I agree that 40% never belonged in college.

Soooo,

What you are saying is they have stupid parents AND teachers because most of us knew all this by the time we were in HS.

Did everyone miss the part about no longer being able to default student loans?

They don't realize many teachers making 30k a year are in Loan forgiveness programs as well

So imagine how bad public schools will get when the pool of teachers continue to get smaller and smaller due to all the education required but the pay being dismal
