Reportedly there was an armed " Resource" officer in the school. He did not come in contact with the shooter who blended in with the student population.
Then, how is it not a stretch to link school shooting to wishing to violate everyone's 2A rights? NOT every gun owner or potential gun owner has committed school shootings.
In fact, as MORE people began owning guns, both the gun homicide rate and nonfatal violent gun crimes rate have DECREASED, by 50% and 76%, respectively.
Why don't you tell that to one of the parents at the funeral of his son or daughter.
Other politicians should learn from the speech, be sympathetic to the victims, and don't lie about the facts (like liberals are doing saying it's easier to buy a gun than vote, it's impossible to buy a gun illegally, there are no gun restrictions, Florida has few gun laws [it has a lot] etc.)

school shootings didn't happen 35 years ago: we had the 2nd amendment in this country for two centuries without school mass shootings. mass school shootings are a new phenomenon.
They did have school shootings 35 years ago. They had school shootings 100 years ago. You are 100% wrong, school shootings are not a new problem it just keeps getting worse due to better weapons and a high rate of availability.
