Seems to me if the FBI would have done their job instead of being so focused on trying to take down Trump they may have stopped the shooting. But hey, the left wing is more interested in trying to get Trump instead of the FBI doing their job.

Gun ownership started out with good intentions, with a need to hunt/provide food, protect family/friends, allow police to maintain law and order, and for sport. There have also always been bad intentions; and since Columbine, mass shootings have become more frequent. We can agree the problem is guns falling into the hands of a deranged psycho with mental illness or someone who is purely evil.
The solution is not easy, but could include a requirement for training/mental evaluation by peers and references, increasing cost of guns and ammo significantly with proceeds going to victims, requiring gun owners to buy insurance, or increasing penalties for illegal possession to 5 yrs. prison minimum.

No, I'm simply using the vernacular frequently used by the FOX news people and friends. They quite often use these terms in order to make certain that their audience is shifted to the "Right" or "Republican" side of thinking.
Most people are followers NOT leaders. Human beings in general want to be led by good leaders. They therefore, essentially want to be controlled. However, they don't want their subservience to be demonstrative.
What we need now are several things put in place.
Like the following perhaps:
(1) Amend the 2nd Amendment.
(2) Severely restrict gun ownership.
(3) Impose heavy fines and long sentences on those caught in the illegal possession of a firearm.
(4) Legally hold responsible the owner of a firearm that is used in any crime. Gun owners need to be aware of their firearm's location at all times.
(5) All firearms need to be kept in a secure location and either locked or disabled while in that location.
(6) Any parent of a child found guilty of a mass shooting should be subject to a criminal investigation themselves.
(7) All mass shooters should be expeditiously executed by a firing squad immediately after trial. No age restrictions. No mental health mitigations.
(8) The NRA should be completely dissolved, placed on the U.S. terrorist list, and considered as an enemy of the state.
No. The second amendment was put in because we had no standing army at the time and that`s made clear with the wording about a well regulated militia. The founders believed that we should vote out politicians with whom we disagree, not murder them. The National Rampage Association is pulling your chain on that one.
