I'm of the opinion that we need to ban the AR 15, which is the opinion of a majority of people. We're not talking about banning all guns, but because of these mass shootings in recent history, I think the AR 15 ban would be a good idea, along with other issues being addressed such as universal background checks, mental health issues, raising the purchase age, etc. Hope these ideas can finally gain some traction.
why would banning a basic 22 cal rifle be a good idea??

Guess we'll all have to wait and see where popular opinion (and votes) get us.
Well popular opinion and votes don't change the constitution, so I have a fairly safe guess as to where those two things will get us.
No one wants to change the Constitution, but yeah, I'm all for some laws being enacted. There's a lot of room between changing the Constitution and changing laws.
And many of them don't agree with the liberal anti gun propaganda the left spews 24x7. There are many teenagers who will be voting who's voices you don't hear because they don't follow the narrative CNN is pushing so they don't get broadcast over and over and over.
There is another generation of voters like the millions who voted for Trump that the left ignored, dismissed and demonized before the election who aren't heard by the media but will be at the ballot box.
Have these kids been invited to speak on Fox News? Rush Limbaugh's show? Tomi Lahren's show? If not...why not?

Right, so banning things "like" the AR is a pretty broad swath, which was the point I was contesting. Popular opinion on that ban of things "like" it would be pushing the limits of the Constitution.
