Meanwhile there are now 17 dead children in Florida. Americans shouldn't be allowed anywhere near guns is how I'm feeling tonight. Going out there with a semi-automatic and endless rounds of ammunition is a game for psychopathic cowards, requiring no skill and certainly no patriotism or so-called "citizens militia." I am a single woman living out in Colorado ranching country and I have always been supportive of gun ownership but the Newtown shootings and now those today are just too much. Democracy does not require us to allow psychopaths to run around with semi-automatics and endless rounds of ammo shooting our precious children..
There is that word again. Feeling.

The 2nd amendment is there for a reason. Just like the abolition of slavery and giving women the vote.

You should start your own country and then you can have your very own constitution.

Yes it's too soon. Showing fake empathy is more important than discussing gun laws.

And then it's time to move onto the "false flag" discussion.

Your attempt to link the 2 are juvenile at best!
Why do folks continue to peddle THIS weak line???

Cars are more vital to our society, economy and way of life in general than guns are by a long shot. There is no comparison. Guns are not "NEEDED" in our society.

Liberals want the border wide open, but want to take your guns?

Um nowhere in the 2nd amendment allows limitations or lack there of, of automatic weapons, assault looking weapons or magazine sizes. Or removal of rights. Americans have the well established right to vote but felons lose that right.

Also this was a quip against the President of the Senate who said this about the Vegas shooting. Now there has been several others on top of that. 18 school shootings since January 1. When is enough enough?

There is no reason to make this tragedy into a political pissing match over political ideology that has nothing to do with this. Reporting these potential risks haven't done anything ever because they have nothing to hold people on. Happened with the Tuscon shooter.

You need to see more of the world before you make such a thing. Guns save lives

Officially NOT working.

At minimum, restrict gun ownership until age 21.

Let these children get out of the age of crazy hormones, get away from the school environment they did not flourish in ....I don't know....what do you guys think about that.

NRA should be banned as a lobby. They are the lobby of murder.

Let's assume for a second that we ignore the Constitution and pass a law that makes owning, possessing or using any gun illegal anywhere in the United States. Does anyone really imagine that passing such a law would eliminate guns from America entirely?

If you really do believe that, consider that it is currently illegal to possess, sell or use heroin anywhere in the United States. Is there heroin in the US currently?

The problem is that those favoring more and stricter gun control laws are relying on criminals obeying those laws. Why would a criminal who is intent on shooting up a school be deterred from doing so because of a law making it illegal for him to obtain a gun? It's already an illegal act to shoot people; what's one more law broken? Guns will always be available for these criminals, whatever the laws are regarding gun control. The best answer is to have a trained and armed security guard present. That is the only real deterrent to a shooter; another shooter targeting him.
