Flat tax is fair... it does not look at income, it looks at you as a person being equal to every other person... what ever the flat tax rate is, it should be commensurate with the need of the federal government budget...

Which based on income inequality would probably be 40-50 percent. Not the pie in the sky 10-15 percent flat taxers have claimed.
I'll jump in with a figure. How about 25%. Why? Tax rates are based on the pain and anger felt by the taxpayers.
10%----few would complain. 40%----people would threaten lawmakers.
Flat tax is the only "fair" system. It would reduce the IRS to about 20-employees and eliminate the gargantuan tax attorney/accountant scam we have now.
Are you talking total income tax burden? I pay Federal, State, and Local Income Taxes. If I add up all the income taxes, plus property taxes, real estate taxes, sales taxes, and other taxes it approaches 50% of my income. It is ridiculous that we have allowed government to tax, and fee us on every level, for every conceivable thing.

I personally agree with this.
