I wanted to say the same thing. Leftists have no problem when DEM governors support gasoline tax increases. Look no further than Jerry Moonbeam Brown in CA.

Precisely. When a Democrat proposes an increase, the GOP faithful scream "Tax and Spend LIBERAL!!!!!"

But when a Republican proposes it- " Oh hey I'd GLADLY pay this, makes sense!!! "

Just showcases their partisan hypocrisy yet AGAIN..

I do NOT support this and I did not support our governor doing it. He owes millions in back taxes, rubs the fact in people's face and then raises the gas tax that affects the poor for the most part.

He was elected as a (D) and then switched so he is the worst of both worlds.

When Obama proposed this I was against it then also. When he was gave the massive infrastructure money just after getting elected, he used most of it for political pay offs and there was no reason to believe he would not have done the same thing again.

Once a vehicle gets below about 21MPG the per mile tax would be less than the fuel tax.
I understand where you are coming from.
I can understand the proposed .25 hike in tax. Then again, it's not the first time that an additional tax idea has been visited by the US government. A flat .25 sounds better than the price per mile.

Way to bring partisan nonsense into an adult conversation.

Funny- I saw lots of infrastructure projects with the recovery act. In fact I financed millions of dollars worth of road and bridge construction that was being paid through those funds.

I do not support or trust either politician. That is the exact opposite of partisan.

No, but making an unsubstantiated claim that 'most of the funds were used to pay political favors' is. Not to mention patently false.

Obama proposed this tax on the Barrel in order to hide the tax from the public, Obama didn't have the stones to ask for a gas tax increase.( most transparent administration ever. )
While I personally don't like most taxes, I'm not opposed to a gas tax increase If it goes to long needed infrastructure projects.
I would rather see the States raise there gas taxes before the feds though, as the fed increase will most likely be siphoned off into useless pork barrel projects.

So are you saying this is different, or are you admitting that Trump is just more of the same?

I am asking honestly. I know your posting background (180* from mine), so I'm genuinely curious how you process this.
