I have a real problem with pardons given life long criminals like Manafort and Gates.

They have escaped taxation and have hidden wealth around the world. Just because they got involved in politics and know too much about what Trump did is no justification to pardon them.

If Flynn was an honorable man, then he may be the exception, however Flynn brought dishonor upon the US Military by directly violating requirements he was reminded of in writing.
Even if Trump pardons them, I doubt they can outrun state charges against them that will surely follow. I still have to believe Mueller has already long since thought all this out.

Not necessarily. The only way Trumps tax returns are in Muellers hands is if data led them there. 90% probability, but theres a 10% chance he does not have them from Trump.

according to manafort's daughter ( in her hacked texts ) he never left the campaign. he made the announcement to the press that he was stepping down but still remained active in the campaign.

I have a couple of questions. If someone is found guilty of money laundering or tax fraud, is there a financial penalty as well as jail time? And if there is a financial penalty, would that penalty still have to be paid even if the person was subsequently pardoned by the President? Anyone know the answers?

A pardon can remove any fines associated with the crime you were convicted of.

So Gates has changed his plea to guilty and will likley testify against Manafort.

Russia Investigation: Trump Aide Rick Gates Likely to Testify Against Paul Manafort in Mueller Probe

Special Counsel investigation isn't even a year old and has already racked up three guilty pleas and over a dozen indictments.

In other news:

"FBI Director Christopher Wray told the Senate Intelligence Committee that the President had not directed law enforcement officials to counter Russian meddling in the 2018 midterm elections."

I am glad you are happy. In the Watergate time line we already had impeachment proceedings going on. The special council zeroed right in on Nixon and it was over very fast.

So Gates is going to testify against Manafort in regards to business dealings that have nothing to do with Trump and the Russia investigation. And now this Dutch lawyer is charged today with perjury also in regards to Manafort and Ukraine not russia and the campaign. I would expect this is also happening to get him to flip against Manafort.

All this shows is Manafort made a huge miscalculation in working with Trump.

Still waiting for relevant convictions or charges for colluding with the Russians. Everyone on the left put the puzzle together a year ago not sure why its taking Mueller so long to even get out of the gate. This is reminding more of the Clinton impeachment and special council and equally convoluted.

Is there any evidence yet to support the charge that Donald Trump conspired with the Russians to steal the election from Hillary Clinton?

Still no? Wow, this is really starting to look like a big scam on the American people, isn't it?

Who made that charge? Not Mueller.
