I think she was going for something unique or adding her personal flair to it. I don't think it was that good but I don't think she intentionally tried to disrespect the anthem.

That is my take on it also. She was trying to do what Marvin Gaye did in the NBA finals 30 something years ago.
In her comeback attempt after being the eye candy for the Black Eye Peas rap group I never knew that she was supposed to have been a great singer. But she needs to work and probably can't get it as an older dancer/model anymore
