why so many shootings in the US versus the rest of the world?
America has a relatively large number of violent criminals (which is mostly about its demographics), and guns are much more readily available than in most other countries. That isn't 100% of the explanation but it's most of it. If Nikolas Cruz lived here in Japan, he could not have gotten the guns he used to commit mass murder. He might have gone on a knife rampage and slashed a lot of people but that type of attack is relatively rare. (I have to assume knifing just isn't as much fun as shooting given the lack of first person knifer video games compared to first person shooter games.) And even if he had tried a mass knifing, chances are slim that he could have killed as many as he did.

There is so many shootings because there is so many guns.

It's too easy for criminals and terrorists to get their hands on guns...because they are everywhere.

The US have very laxed penalties for most crimes and criminals. People begin to feel like they can get away with anything.

Easy. We allow mentally ill people to be able to buy guns either by gun shops or under the radar with private sales. No other 1st or 2nd world country allows this. Plus anyone can buy a gun by private sale with no back ground check at all. It is a loophole that the NRA and Republicans love.

It doesn’t show that. But you would also have to look at violent vs non-violent stays.

And then picked the 3 most biased sites online. You really think that picking Mother Jones and CNN isn't showing bias?

Why so many shootings, by we
66% suicides
85% of the remainder is felons killing other felons
40% of the remainder is justifiable shootings by police and civilians
leaving 1,009 victims out of 350,000,000 population. That's only 0.29 / 100,000 if you aren't going to shoot yourself and you aren't a repeat felon. The US isn't nearly as bad as the left wishes it was.

And kids are many times more likely to die playing school sports than to die in a school shooting. You don't see many screeching about the bloodbath on the playground and looking to ban sports, do you?

Do you have a link to back this up?

I'm not saying it's not possible, but I would like to see the numbers.
