COLUMBIA — Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti is heading to South Carolina this week — another sign that presidential aspirants are beginning to trickle in to the Palmetto State two years ahead of the "First in the South" 2020 Democratic primary.
The problem with this is that there's nothing that Garcetti offers that plenty of other Dems don't offer, and Garcetti's record will not play well. L.A. is a very unpopular city with the rest of the US or for that matter with the rest of the state, and Garcetti has not made it better and indeed has made it worse.

never heard of him, but the pro-illegal immigrant platform isnt a very big draw among southern democrats.

I've been seeing Garcettis name more often as a potential presidential candidate, what a wild and terrible idea. Crime is up, homelessness is up, DWP ripping people off, he's a demagogue.
