Really the only private schools that have that sort of armed security are those that house diplomats children for terrorism reasons.
I should have reread BB's post before posting that . I forgot that he used the word armed, and was thinking about the rest of the description.

I was also thinking about colleges as well as prep schools. I grew up in an affluent SF Bay Area suburb, and attended public schools (K-12) that haven't been below the top 1-2% in California (academically) for probably 60+ years. However, some families in my community sent their kids to private prep schools outside the community...all (except two) west of the Mississippi (AFAIK), and some of those schools were walled and had manned gates (with unarmed personnel , AFAIK).

Part of my collegiate experience was on a campus that was walled and had a manned gate (again, the 'guards' weren't armed).

I had two childhood friends who prepped in the NE, one at St. George's, and one at St. Paul's, but I never managed to visit them during those years. The closest I came was visiting another friend in New Jersey, not too far from where Trump National is now located (this was well before that club existed, and my friends were members at Baltusrol, a bit over 20 miles away).

I now live in The Woodlands, TX. I drive by The Woodlands Prep International School almost every day that I am in town, and it is gated...with a fairly large gatehouse at the entrance.

Seriously my bank has one armed security guard, with the same handgun most school police officers here have.

Is this a "Texas thing"?
I'm in Texas and no, it's not a Texas thing. My credit union doesn't even have a visible security guard. It's A BentBow thing.

Take away the legal firearms while leaving the illegal weapons in the hands of the criminals? Absurd.

Ad nauseam....
We don't need to post armed guards at all those places provided we stop making them gun free zones.

Arming teachers and other trusted school employees, trained individuals already on site, eliminates the ten or twenty minutes the shooter normally has to slaughter innocent children.

I will pay more taxes for that, yes.

If the 2nd amendment will not be repealed, we can still make tangible changes to reduce the number of future children and school staff killed.

Link leads to a page not found message. If you search the name you get 62 results for all different years and schools all over the country. Maybe, just maybe, there are more than one David Hogg in this country.

ETA that classmates.com profile was created on Feb 20, 2018.
