In fact, 2018 midterms have some huge senate races in places where being anti-gun will terminate any chance of winning. Soooooooo, there are some high political stakes like control of the Senate in play.
This is true. CNN reported yesterday that there is very little interest by the democrats to make gun control an issue in the next few months because it will kill their chances in the mid terms.
You know that's true, I know that's true, but in the minds of a gun obsessed NRA member, they still have "control" over their "tyrannical" govt. as long as they can lovingly cradle their AR-15.
That's not nearly as much of a tragedy as all the people murdered by these weapons in mass shootings, but its still tragic.
You aren't the military. I realize your macho weaponry makes the testosterone flow, but there is no reason in Hell that normal citizens need these assault weapons or huge magazines. No reason whatsoever.
People have had enough of the carnage these weapons cause, enough is enough.

Let me repeat since it didn't penetrate the first time: The people who panic and rush in to buy more guns at times like this are OBVIOUSLY the terrified ones.
Of course the alt-right wants everyone to just shut up after school shootings, but it is clearly not going to happen. If Dems want another ban, they will being it up at times like these.
They have in the past, and will do so again. The only reason they didn't do it 08-10 was because they were busy getting ACA passed.
They don't do it because strict gun control is a losing issue politically in the United State. Politicians are politicians no matter which party they belong to. As close as elections have become and as divided as we are no politician is going to **** off such a solid block of voters. Period.
