Pennsylvania’s new congressional districts are gerrymander-free — and Republicans are angry (Representatives, legal)

And they did. It's the Pennsylvania Supreme Court that said that the districts did not comply with Pennsylvania's Constitution. The Pennsylvania legislature refused to redraw the districts, so the Pennsylvania Supreme Court did it for them. That's a classic example of states' rights in action.
(All states have a process for who draws the district maps, and what happens when someone disagrees. Apparently, in Pennsylvania it's the state Supreme Court that has the final say.)
How can the courts draw districts when that isn't their job?
They obviously usurped a power they don't have, for partisan purposes.
The Legislature has the sole authority to make laws and to draw districts. Courts have no such power.
This is a gerrymandering thread besides republicans = deficits.
Still waiting for answer as to how gerrymandering got Wolf elected as governor.
Redrawing the map of Pennsylvania districts boost Democrats nationally in their quest to take control of the U.S. House, and leaves district boundaries up in the air barely three months before May's primary election.
Of course Democrat Tom Wolf (who wants higher taxes on everyone) wants this.
"At Large" districts tend to dilute the power of the minority (not just racial, but political too)
Say a state has 12 congressional districts, but decides for an at-large state election. Whatever party wins more than 50% of the state vote will likely have a hyper-majority in their state's congressional delegation.
And that's before we consider the racial balance. Most states in the South (specifically ones under Justice Department supervision) are prohibited from having "At Large" municipal and county elections in large part for this very reason.
No they don't. They have the proportional power they have. And even if they did, SO WHAT?
Ah...so now we see where the Federal government is truly infringing on the rights of the states, in a partisan and racist fashion, but the left doesn't squawk about that. They only squawk if their illegals have to produce some ID.
Pennsylvanians Facing Historic Tax Increases with Democrat Gov. Wolf's New Budget
Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf (D) presented his first budget, which includes the largest state tax increase in Pennsylvania history. Income tax rate will be raised by 20%, also an increase of the sales tax from 6 to 6.6 percent. In addition, many goods that have been exempt from the sales tax would be taxed, include nursing care, parks, and textbooks. It’s ironic that Gov. Wolf wants to start taxing textbooks, when at the same time he increases spending on education.
This law will ensure that Tom Wolf is reelected and Pennsylvanians will be forced to pay higher taxes.
This is going to be a long fight over this here in Pa. Looking at it, the new map isn't much better than the old one, both are geared to favor one political party over the other. My county gets split three ways down from four. Hoorah.
What can we expect from politicians and elected officials? Corruption and incompetence seem to be about right.
When Tom Wolf became governor the first thing he did was submit a budget with huge tax increases. He refused to pass the budget unless it included them but Republicans fought against it. They were having to borrow money to keep offices and schools running. Tom Wolf held up the budget for over a year. Tom Wolf submitted another budget in 2016 and it also included tax increases "for everyone".
In the midst of a fraught battle over state congressional maps, and during an increasingly-heated midterm election year, Governor Tom Wolf has released his budget proposal for the 2018-19 fiscal year--the fourth and final one of his first term.
Much of it sounds familiar.
How does a center maybe even center right state end up with a looney lefty as governor?
How can the courts draw districts when that isn't their job?

The courts didn’t redraw the districts, did you read the op’s article?
